Now that I have a blog, I’m going to have to take back all those snarky comments I’ve made about blogs, arent’ I? And I’ll qualify this little experiment by assuring you, my loyal reader(s), that I will NOT regale you with the tedious details of my mundane days. See, it is really not so much an urge to connect and communicate that has driven me to the online Wordpress tutorials, oh, no. It is much more mercenary than that.

Did you know that people actually get PAID to blog?? I discovered this through the hiremymom.com website. I guess I sort of knew, in a peripheral way, that SOME people got paid, through sites like Wondertime and uber-intellectual news sites, but I did not realize that this is the Hot New Thing for both small and large businesses to further peddle their wares via the web. Or maybe not so New, some of you may be thinking… “Um, where have you BEEN, Ms. I-think-I’m-so-techy?”

So here I am, expanding my skill set. Yep. The recession has demonstrated to me that I am a luxury item, and the babies need shoes… and tuition.
